Record as much information as possible such as appearance of the dog, dog breed, where it came from, location of the attack, and dog owner information if possible.
2. Take Photos
Make sure you take photographs of the attack scene, the dog if possible, your injuries, the house/fence conditions if at the dog's home, and surrounding conditions.

3. Log Everything
Keep a detailed digital log of all correspondence and and medical events following the incident. Cases can last weeks to months in court and details can be easily forgotten.
